It will be slow news days this coming week, so I thought I would give readers some information regarding the different tournament formats. Some of the games in these tournaments could have an impact on where OSU will be placed in the regionals.
The SEC did the smart thing by truly rewarding the teams based on their success during the season. Their formats are single elimination which requires the teams finishing 9th to 16th to win 5 games, the teams from 5th to 8th to win 4 games and the top 4 teams to win just 3 games to be champions.

The B10 has the format similar to the PAC12 last year where the top 12 are divided into four 3 team pools with the winners playing a single elimination tournament. This will require 4 total games for the champion.
The Big West has a double elimination tournament for the top 5 teams. This would require the top two teams (UCI and Cal Poly) to play either 3 or 4 games to win the conference. BTW, OSU won every series against the teams in the Big West including the top 4 finishers. OSU also swept the series against the WCC champion San Diego.
The bracket is locked for the 2025 Big West Baseball Championship, presented by Ontario International Airport, held May 21-24 or 25 at Goodwin Field on the campus of Cal State Fullerton.
