Read an article recently talking a bit about how it's been 4 years since the big money started flowing into the conference and we should start being able to see who made smart moves and who did otherwise.

Interesting thinking as just about every program in the Pac 12 either started pouring money into facilities or a new coach (including a buy out for the old one) except for Oregon and Oregon State.

I include Oregon because they already have their facilities paid for and they hired Helfich internally, not really a big shift.

OSU on the other hand, under DeCarolis, seemed to really focus on paying off debt and getting some financial affairs in order vs. incurring more debt and hoping the $$ flows in later (ala WSU).

So any thoughts on how that strategy is going to pay off? Seems that while we were a bit behind in the arms race game, OSU is in a pretty decent position trajectory wise (assuming the GA hire proves out). Guessing OSUProf might have some better insight.
