LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Oregon State wide receiver and kick returner Silas Bolden has been named to the Hornung Award weekly honor roll, it was announced Tuesday. The honor, which was won by Jack Colletto last season, is given annually to college football’s most versatile player.

Bolden played a big role in the Beavers’ 52-40 win over California Saturday in Berkeley. He caught three passes for 34 yards, scoring a touchdown on an 11-yard reception in the second quarter. He also rushed for 11 yards on one carry.

Bolden was dynamic in the return game, totaling 109 yards on two attempts. His first, for 59 yards, helped the Beavers start a drive at the Cal 26 after the Golden Bears committed a personal foul on the play. His second went for 50 yards and set the Beavers up midfield.

He became just the second player nationally – joining Texas State’s Kole Wilson – to have two returns of 50 or more yards in the same game this season.

Bolden and the Beavers now turn their attention to this week’s matchup with No. 18 UCLA. Saturday’s game kicks off at 5 p.m. PT at Reser Stadium, and it will air live on FOX.
