Oregon States second practice is in the books. Today, the Beavers’ pads came on and they were popping. Both sides of the ball were battling and practice was competitive.
Nuggets from practice today
- The offensive line looks like they are coming together, picking up blitzes, communicating well, and most importantly protecting the quarterback.
- Thomas Tyner looks like he is starting to get a feel back for the game. He looks more comfortable and looks like his vision is starting to come back.
- Darell Garretson looked strong running the ball today but again struggled with the deep balls as he was picked off by veteran safety Drew Kell.
- Bright Ugwoegbu is building his case to have a huge year as he disrupted the offense on multiple occasions.
- Jake Luton continues to impress as he turned broken plays into dimes for first downs even with pressure in his face.
- The defensive backs look to be the most complete position group on the defense. They look sharp, they understand their assignments, and they continue to look the most confident.
- Jordan Villamin looks like he is setting his expectations high for this upcoming season, showing tremendous leadership and playmaking ability that the Beavers have wanted. Multiple times he delivered big blocks, which resulted in big plays for the offense.
- The defensive line looked impressive today, it looked like the guys are improving day by day, there were a couple of times that the D-line overpowered the offense and made plays, that is a BIG deal for this defense.
- Marcus McMaryion continues to be impressive on his feet; he is the best dual threat the Beavers have. The QB battle is narrowing down between Luton and McMaryion is heating up.
- Isaiah Hodgins has the potential to be a the best receiver on the team. He looks bigger, faster, and the kid is ready to flat out ball. He hasn't had the chance to get many passes thrown to him, but that being said, his game is only getting better.

QB: Jake Luton
RB: Ryan Nall
WR: Trevon Bradford, Jordan Villamin, Isaiah Hodgins.
TE: Noah Togiai
OL: Blake Brandel, Fred Lauina, Sumner Houston, Gus Lavaka, Trent Moore.
D-Line: Titus Failauga, Baker Pritchard, Kalani Vakameilalo
LB: Manase Hungalu, Andrzej Hughes-Murray, Bright Ugwoegbu, Jonathan Willi.
Corners: Xavier Crawford, Shawn Wilson
Safeties: Jalen Moore, Brandon Arnold.
