CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State and San Jose State have announced a schedule change for the 2023 season opener. The game has been moved to Sunday, Sept. 3 at CEFCU Stadium in San Jose, Calif.

The change has been made due to an expected television broadcast on a prominent network; that information, along with a kickoff time, will be released at a later date.

Oregon State is coming off its third 10-win season after going 10-3 in 2022. The Beavers ended the season with a 30-3 win over Florida in the SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl. San Jose State, meanwhile, went 7-5 last season, losing 41-27 to Eastern Michigan in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

The teams are set to meet for the seventh time, with Oregon State holding a 4-2 advantage. The Beavers and Spartans last played in 2015; OSU won that game, 35-21. The game in 2023 will be the first in San Jose since 1988, a 41-27 Oregon State win.
