FUN FACTS (Week of April 8)
NCAA TOURNAMENT
The gymnastics team is one of eight teams in the NCAA Championships in Fort Worth, Texas April 19-20. The appearance will be the 29th for the Beavs in the NCAA Finals. OSU’s 4-team semifinal also consists of Oklahoma, Georgia and Denver. The opposite group is UCLA, Michigan, LSU and Utah. The top two teams from each session advance to the finals.
NATIONAL HONORS
Baseball pitcher Bryce Fehmel (Agoura Hills, Calif.) is one of 10 finalists for the 2019 Senior CLASS Award. Fans can help select the winner at SeniorClassAward.com through June 10. The award signifies notable achievements and excellence in community, classroom, character and competition.
Baseball’s Brandon Eisert (Beaverton) and Adley Rutschman (Sherwood) have been named to the Golden Spikes Award midseason watch list.
ACADEMICS
A total of 82 student-athletes have been selected to the Pac-12 Academic teams this academic year. The list should swell to over 100 with the addition of the forthcoming spring awardees.
PAC-12 HONOR
Rutschman is this week’s Pac-12 Player of the Week – the second honor of the season for the catcher. He batted .474 with six runs, 7 RBI (3 home runs) in last week’s five games.

MEN’S BASKETBALL
• Tres Tinkle (Missoula, Mont.) has put his name into the NBA Draft, but has not secured an agent. He hasuntil May 29th to remove his name from the Draft and retain his one remaining year ofcollege eligibility.
GYMNASTICS
• The Beavers qualified to NCAA Championships over the weekend after earning a second-place finish at the NCAA Corvallis Regional Championships. OSU finished second in the Second Round on Friday to advance to the Regional Final on Saturday when they, again, finished second to earn the second berth from the regional to the championship round.
• The Championships will take place April 19-20 at the Fort Worth Convention Center Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. Both semifinals and the finals will air on ESPN2/ESPNU.
• Sabrina Gill(Oakville, Ontario) scored 9.925 in Friday’s Second Round to tie for the top score in the meet becoming the 35th regional champion in OSU history.

BASEBALL
• Team takes a 23-7-1 (9-3 in Pac-12)record into athree-game Pac-12 series at Arizona State(26-4, 9-3) Friday-Sunday. All games are on Pac-12 Plus Live Stream (ASU’s stream) at 6:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. respectively.
• The Beavers, Sun Devils and UCLA are all tied for second in the Pac-12 at 9-3. Stanford leads by percentage points at 7-2.
• Rutschman(Sherwood, Ore.) moved into fourth in the Oregon State record books with 156 runs batted in after tallying four versus Oregon on Tuesday. He also tied for the Oregon State record for walks with 120. He is just shy of the top 10 for career hits (he has 194) and home runs (he has 23).
• The team is headed to Arizona for the second time this season. The Beavers went 8-0 in Surprise to open the season.
• The Beavers are 14-28 all-time at ASU, with nine of those wins coming since 2005.
• Oregon State enters the series with ASU having the No. 3 RPI nationally (Arizona State is No. 30). Oregon State is 10-4-1 against teams with top-50 RPI.
• The Beavers are tied for sixth nationally allowing only 3.4 runs per game.
SOFTBALL
• The team takes a 19-14 record into this weekend’s three-game set at California (21-18). Games are Friday-Sunday at 3 p.m. 3 p.m. and Noon respectively and on Pac-12 Network.
• This weekend’s games mark the last out of the state of Oregon for the team.
• As a team, Oregon State is No. 3 in batters struck out looking (71), No. 3 in stolen bases (40) and No. 4 in batters struck out (228) in the Pac-12 Conference.
• Seniors Jessica Garcia (Hughson, Calif.) and Shelby Weeks (Tracy, Calif.) are tied for fourth in the Pac-12 with 12 stolen bases this season.

• Men’s Golf completes the regular season schedule at a tournament in Davis, Calif., this weekend.
