The inaugural MPSF Men's Rowing chanpionship will be held this weekend at Lake Natoma; Gold River, Calif. The MPSF consists of eight programs, including all four from last year’s Pac-12 Conference – current No. 7 Stanford, No. 1 Washington, No. 2 California, and No. 19 Oregon State. Also competing are Gonzaga, San Diego, Santa Clara, and UC San Diego. Washington is the defending IRA national champion.
The new championship replaces the PAC-12 Championship, which ended in 2023 after the dissolution of the PAC-12 Conference, and also includes four schools from the Western Sprints Championship. The MPSFs are being held in conjunction with WCC and GNAC championships.
The eight schools will compete in the two-day regatta Sat., May 17, and Sun., May 18, at Lake Natoma, which served as host site for most Pac-12 Championship regattas in recent years. Overnght.com will provide live video streaming. That same website will also stream IRA championships later this spring.
In a manner similar to the IRA national championship, the winner of the varsity eight grand final will be named MPSF Champion this weekend.
