There is just no way the 2nd place team from the Pac 12 should ever get passed over for one of the 16 hosting sites, period; and now it's happened 2 years in a row. Could you ever see that happening to an SEC, ACC or Big 12 team? No chance in hell!! And then to get passed over for the #2 teams in the Big West AND the Missouri Valley Conference? That is B.S.!!!

Say all you want about our RPI and non conference schedule but look at the vast majority of the entire 16 host teams, even the top 8. Their non-con schedules are not impressive at all either. Is it really that much more impressive if a team wins a series against Grambling St instead of South Slabovia A&M? Not to mentioned the always talked about SEC, ACC and Texas teams loading up on home games during non-con. What sets the SEC, ACC and Big 12 apart from the Pac 12 is national respect; the Pac 12 gets none. You can take any team from each of those 4 conferences and give them the same non-conference schedule, and have them finish with identical statistics in every category and identical records. The SEC will have an RPI in the top 10, ACC in the top 15, Big 12 in the top 15 and the Pac 12 team will be in the top 20. What's worse is that those 3 conferences all get the benefit of the doubt for playing in their own conferences. Regardless of their non-con schedules, if they play well enough to finish in second place in their conference they will automatically have an RPI high enough to not ever be in doubt of at least hosting a regional. So I don't want to hear any B.S. from the national pundits about the Beavs playing Grambling, losing 3 out of 5 to the ucks, etc. They went through the Pac 12 and placed 2nd, went 18-5 in non-conference games against non Pac 12 schools, and were on fire down the stretch. There is no excuse for not being a regional host, especially if you want to say the Pac 12 was so strong it deserved 6 teams.

That's the beef comparing OSU and the Pac 12 against the other top 4 baseball conferences. Let's take a look at the Big West and MVC. OK, maybe Dallas Baptist, Missouri State, UCSB and Fullerton had really good non-con schedules? They better because their conference schedules for the most part are pathetic!! Hell, same goes for Illinois and the Big 10. Anyway, the fact the SEC, ACC and Big 12 get such automatic benefit of the doubt for playing in their own conference, and the Pac 12, which has won more baseball national championships than those three combined gets screwed annually just really chaps my rear!! There is no justifying it, period!!!
