It seems evident that there are some college basketball programs that believe they are a protected class of elites- above such mundane things as rules, federal laws, or honesty. Witness the hijinks at Kansas. The Jayhawks, as you may recall, are currently facing three Level I violations (the most severe level of NCAA infraction) for funneling Addidas money to player's and recruit's families and to former players, among other violations. This came from the FBI wiretaps.
So what does Kansas do to kick off the season at their annual "late night" opening practice? They bring in Snoop Dogg and have a show featuring innumerable four-letter words, pole dancers, and money guns. That's right, guns that shoot money. And what does coach Bill Self do to promote this? He appears in a video wearing an Addidas shirt while wearing gold chains with a big dollar sign...
If you are facing and NCAA investigation into using Addidas money to illegally pay players and you wear an Addidas shirt and Dollar-sign gold chains for a promotional video... well, it doesn't look like Bill is too concerned about the NCAA.
Arizona and USC are soon to face a similar situation. So at least we now know what Wayne needs to do to get those 5-stars on campus...
