I am kind of a stat geek when it comes to OSU baseball. I found it very interesting to note that OSU has an excellent defense fielding percentage of .982 which now ranks about #5 in the country (despite Carraway's issues at 3B). However, the opponents against OSU are fielding at an amazing .981. (I looked at the normal fielding percentage of these opponents and they average about .976), It is obvious that our opponents are very focused when they play the Beavs. BTW, the average fielding percentage of the 299 teams that play D1 baseball is .968. To give some perspective, if a team averages one error per game, their field percentage will be about .972.
