CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State’s Raegan Beers and Talia von Oelhoffen earned Preseason All-Pac-12 recognition from the conference’s media ahead of the 2023-24 season, the league announced on Monday.
Beers is coming off a Pac-12 Freshman and Sixth Player of the Year campaign in her first season in Corvallis. She was also an All-Pac-12 and All-Freshman choice by the league’s coaches.
The Coloradan closed the regular season leading qualifying league freshmen in ten traditional and advanced statistical categories. Beers’ 14 double-doubles were the sixth-most for a Beaver in a single season, tying Beers with Tanja Kostic (1993-94) and Mikayla Pivec (2019-20). It also led freshmen nationally in the regular season and was the second-most by a Pac-12 freshman since 1999-00.
The honor is von Oelhoffen’s third preseason all-league nod. She was named All-Pac-12 honorable mention by conference coaches in 2022-23 and was an All-Pac-12 choice after the 2021-22 season.
Von Oelhoffen's season ended early due to an injury, but she led the Beavers in scoring for much of the season with 13.2 points per game. She also improved on the defensive end with career-highs in steals (32) and blocks (19). The sophomore was one of the Pac-12's best rebounding guards with 4.3 boards per game and dished 3.1 assists per game.
The duo are two of seven returners on Oregon State’s 2023-24 roster, all seven of which started at least one game last season. Buoyed by a three-woman freshman class and three transfers, the Beavs will open the 2023-24 season on November 6 against Arkansas Pine-Bluff.
