....couldn't sleep last night, so you guys get to hear my thoughts!
Here are the order of preferred outcomes, in my opinion:
1. Big 12. Obvious reasons here....some regionality, maintain budget, Power 5. Could still play traditional rivals with parity.
2. Independent. Not sure how this would look financially, but that's what the AD and his people are for. What do we (Beaver Nation) have to do in order to support this? Would we do it? Have to have a path to the CFP and parity with the departed PAC teams.
....and now a distant 3:
3. Go to FCS. Hear me out. We have all heard "TV ruined college football" or "it's all about money (now)." So....if we believe that in our hearts, why are we grasping onto it so dearly? I don't want to be in some PACWEST where we are underfunded but in the same league with the bigger programs and always on the outside looking in. Why not just maintain our current budget and go play the game at a more pure level? Establish new local rivals and traditions....and NEVER play the ducks or Huskies again. Let them languish in the BIG 10 and piss off.
