Haven't seen them in person but have watched the games on dvr.... sometimes in 1/15 slo mo....

Several problems that exist that need some immediate attention or it will be a long season.

First is floor spacing and ball movement. So far we have mostly not moved the ball from side to side to break the d down and have left ourselves with one on one penetration into a defense that isn't out of position and is available for easy help in the middle. Spacing problems are occurring too frequently and often our inexperienced players are bringing the defense into the path of our guys who are trying to penetrate. Watching higher level teams it is easy to see that they all move the ball side to top to side and back with little or no dribbling or jab steps or or or whatever it is that we do to allow the defense to rotate easily with our passing..... All of this led to the problem in the last game where we had so many turnovers. We are easy to defend and still believe we can break down the d ala Allen Iversion penetration.

Outside in and inside and back out....We get the ball to Eubanks infrequently, and it seems as if it doesn't come back out, when there is a quick double on him. Creating an open player when Eubanks is doubled, should be an easy three for us if we spot up where Eubanks can get them the ball. Does Eubanks believe that he has to put the ball up because if he doesn't he won't see it again? Could be coached to always take it.....Couple of spot up threes on the pass back out, will make Eubanks a liability to double and eventually make his looks at the basket easier when the double is abandoned.

Shot selection....inexperienced players and experienced players are jacking shipt up from everywhere, regardless of where they are, whether they are guarded, where they are in the shot clock or where the rebounders are yet in position. Our percentage should be higher and one of the questions that arises out of poor selection is: "why are we forcing shots when we don't have to"? Tres is always taking it at the d and ends up at the FT line often, but I don't know how this always involves our other players. When we do get open looks we often look awkward in our form and look like we are aiming the ball rather than instinctually shooting it.

Our point play better step it up a notch or two...lets hope the frosh thing will go away soon.

On the positive side we block a lot of shots and are still disruptive to the other teams offense, often making them look out of synch like we did last year and the year before. However, our zone is suspect because we continually give up the open 3 in the corner and the ball is moved easily against us on the perimeter. Additionally, those blocks against shorter, slower non-pac teams become fouls on ND and Eubanks.

Hope to see Stevie soon as he adds offensive dimensions and scoring that we desperately need.

Lets see what we can do against a higher level team on the road tonight.
