WIDE RECEIVER

It would appear that with 3 current commits at the WR position, the Beavers are full at the position for this cycle. But they are still after several WRs that would fit into the Jelly Donut mold. It is also possible that one of the current commits could be asked to greyshirt to make room for another WR to be a part of the 2016 class.

COMMITS

TREVON BRADFORD (3* #8 in OR 5.5 RR)
5-11 180 lbs. Committed 5/5/15
Oregon City HS
Oregon City, OR

The Oregon City wideout committed to the Beavers in May shortly after receiving his offer. At the time of his commitment, Bradford claimed offers from Air Force, Idaho, Montana St., Northern Arizona, and Washington State. Bradford stated that Coach Woods (his area recruiter), Coach Brenan and Coach Andersen were all integral pieces in his recruitment. He seems to be fairly solid in his commitment, but there is still a long ways to go until February. Bradford could also possibly be a greyshirt candidate.

JAVONTE FERGUSON (3* 5.5 Rivals Rating)
5-8 160 lbs. Committed 4/22/15
Ed White HS
Jacksonville, FL

Ferguson was one of the first commitments for the Beaver staff in the 2016 class. The undersized wideout plays at one of Florida’s more storied programs, Ed White. With his commitment, it is brings another athlete (following in Taylor Thomas’ footsteps), into the fold for the Beavers with the hopes of building a pipeline to the high school. Ferguson has value not only playing in the slot but also in the return game. Javonte is another potential greyshirt candidate.

TYSON PENN (2* 5.4 Rivals Rating)
6-5 195 lbs. Committed 7/4/15
Bellevue HS
Bellevue, WA

Penn committed to the Beavs after a fairly impressive spring. The big receiver reminds some of current Beavers WR Jordan Villamin as both are big bodied and very athletic despite being 6’5”. Penn chose OSU over offers from Montana, UNLV, Utah St., Wyoming and WSU. Playing at WA powerhouse Bellevue, he will have plenty of eyeballs on him come fall. The one program to look out for is obviously UW. Should the Huskies offer, Penn will have a lot to think about. The Huskies have a history of offering in-state talent at the last minute and poaching them from other programs (see Shane Bowman in 2014 from OSU).

TARGETS

N’Keal Harry (5* #3 WR #21 OVR #1 in AZ)
6-3 211 lbs.
Chandler HS Chandler, AZ

Having Harry’s HS QB (Moran) committed to your program, appears to have paid dividends initially for Coach Andersen as Harry recently released a top-10 which included the Beavs. Among others listed, Oregon, Texas A&M, Washington, Arizona, USC, ASU, Texas, Louisville and UCLA, the Beavers would appear to be on the outside looking in. A lot would need to go right for the Beavs to earn Harry’s signature come signing day, but they do have Moran on their side, who will be in Harry’s ear all the way until February. Securing an OV the same weekend that Moran will be in Corvallis would be the ideal next step.

Devin Duvernay (4* #9 WR #57 OVR #8 in TX)
5-11 193 lbs.
Sachse HS Sachse, TX

The Beavers are definitely a long shot with Duvernay, however there are a couple positives working for them. First off, Devin has not listed a top group of programs and claims to be wide open to any and every team that is still recruiting him. With nearing 40 offers, his offer list is a who’s who in college football. One of the other things working in the Beavers favor is that Devin would really like to play with his brother Donovan (who plays CB). Only a handful of programs have offered both of the Duvernay brothers, the Beavers happen to be one. Duvernay is one of the fastest players in the nation, in fact he clocked the 2nd fastest 100m time in the nation earlier this spring. With all that being said, I think Devin will be a tough pull out of the Texas region. Baylor, TCU and Michigan are some of the other schools that have offered both Durvernay brothers, other schools linked to Devin are LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State.

Theo Howard (4* #11 WR #70 OVR #10 in CA)
Committed to Oregon 6-0 175 lbs.
Westlake HS Westlake Village, CA

Despite being committed to Oregon, rumors continue to swirl as to how solid Howard is in his commitment. Despite having Howard commit in March, Oregon has been very active in recruiting other WRs including former UCLA/turned USC commit Michael Pittman, Duvernay and Harry (among others), while having 4* Dillon Mitchell also committed. Howard claims 25 offers from programs across the country. Coach Brennan is Howard’s lead recruiter for the Beavers and reportedly the two have a very good relationship. It will be interesting to see if he ends up decommitting in order to take some visits.

Tyrin Summers (3* 5.6 Rivals Rating)
5-9 162 lbs.
Clewiston HS Clewiston, FL

The Florida 3* boasts 7 offers, from Bowling Green, Florida International, Georgia Southern, Miami, South Carolina, Toledo and OSU. While it will more than likely be difficult to pull Summers out from Florida with Miami having extended an offer, Miami native Telly Lockette is leading Summers’ recruitment for the Beavers. What Lockette is selling, Summers is listening to as he recently said that OSU would more than likely receive an OV. Outside of OSU, Georgia Southern and FAU have been in the most contact with him.

Davion Curtis (3* 5.5 Rivals Rating)
6-0 180 lbs.
Temple HS Temple, TX

Curtis has an interesting offer list and appears to have narrowed things down slightly already. Having a dozen offers to his name, according to recent interviews Georgia, Kansas State, Texas Tech and OSU are all places he would like to take OVs to come September ,with a decision to be made around mid-season. TCU has also been in touch with Curtis but the Horned Frogs have yet to offer.

UNCOMMITTED

Dylan Crawford (4* #15 WR #82 OVR #13 in CA)
6-1 175 lbs.
Santa Margarita Catholic HS Rancho Santa Margarita, CA

Crawford recently released his top-10 and it did not include the Beavers. His top-10 included Arizona, ASU, Miami, Michigan, Oregon, Stanford, Tennessee, UCLA, USC, and UW, all of whom have extended offers to Crawford with the exception of Oregon. It is widely believed that should Oregon offer, Crawford would jump all over it. It appears that official visits are being set up to Miami, Michigan and Stanford in addition to Oregon. Crawford’s HS QB, KJ Costello, is committed to Stanford.

Damian Alloway (4* #20 WR #110 OVR #19 in CA)
5-10 170 lbs.
Summit HS Fontana, CA

Alloway released a top-4 in May shortly after being offered by Notre Dame. His top group consists of Notre Dame, Wisconsin, UCLA and Cal. In March, Alloway was set to decide between the two Pac-12 schools but ultimately decided to put off that decision. The Golden Domers appear to be the front-runner for Alloway with UCLA and Cal right behind.

Steffon McKnight (4* #36 WR #174 OVR #33 in CA)
6-1 165 lbs.
Mira Mesa HS San Diego, CA

The San Diego standout recently released a top-5 consisting of ASU, Nebraska, USC and Washington, with UCLA named as his leader. McKnight stated that these five programs will receive his OVs during the season and a decision would be made shortly thereafter.

Jacob Robertson (3* #66 in GA 5.6 RR)
6-0 162 lbs.
Woodward Academy College Park, GA

Not a whole lot is known about Robertson’s recruitment as he has yet to really name any leaders and has played most everything close to the chest. He claims to hold nearly 20 offers and has made unofficial visits this summer to Tennessee, Duke, Wake Forest, Kentucky, Louisville and Miami. He plans on narrowing down his list soon and making a decision around mid-August. With hardly a mention of the Beavers in interviews or on social media, combined with the lack of OSU’s recruiting presence in Georgia, it’s safe to say that both parties are looking in different directions.
