I just spoke to John Bates, the latest commitment to Oregon State's 2016 class. He confirmed that he will be a TE for the Beavs. He may be the steal of the state. He grew up in Nyssa, OR (a small town south of Ontario on the Oregon/Idaho border) and moved to Lebanon last year when his dad took a principal job there.
He ran a 4.7 40 and won multiple events this past spring in track, helping Lebanon win their first 5A State Championship.
He is solid with his commitment and is looking forward to helping recruit others and make lots of unofficial visits. Really soft spoken young man, but you could tell he was really excited about his commitment.
