A girlfriend and I attended today's Women's Football Clinic in Corvallis with proceeds benefiting women's cancer screenings.
Very fun event. Started on the field with position stations. The players and coaches put us through some of the same drills they do. All of the players did a fantastic job and Coach A wandered around and offered encouragement.
Then it was your time. Spend some time in Valley where several players answered questions. Storm Barrs-Woods, Larry Scott, Josh Mitchell, Jalen Grimble, Jaswha James and Ricky Ortiz spoke about why they came to OSU, what they were studying etc.
Later we went to The Loge for a reception. Nice night and I would totally recommend it next year for any Blitzer women or wives.
A few things I learned about myself...I am not a kicker. Punting was a bit better. Also probably not suited to play OL. I could not make Dustin Stanton budge. I don't, know, Victor Bolden let me run a fly sweep and I felt fast. Kevin Cummings told me that I looked like James Rodgers (hahaha, I know I didn't)
Funniest part of the day was our last station...DB drills. Since we trained with the safeties they took it upon themselves to see me in action. I talked a good game and did one heckuva a back peddle in place. Cyril Noland-Lewis told me that I needed to keep my nose over my toes...yeah, didn't and ended up falling on my arse, doing a backward summersault and popped up. Guess I'm not ready to be a corner either.
