I had trouble figuring out just what our offense was supposed to be during the entire first half. It looked like Collins was functionally the tailback and QB with a supporting cast. I doubt that's what it's supposed to be, but suspect Collins just used the read-option to give himself the ball, never handing off -- like in not trusting his team mates. It was especially weird in short yardage situations where other, stronger backs were available.
It changed in the 2nd half with more running by the supporting cast, but with the constant turnover -- first Nall, then Haskins, then Brown, then Barrs Woods -- it was hard to see how the team could expect to gain any rhythm or flow. I can't argue with Collins success running the ball, but we will never be successful if he chooses to dominate the way he tried to in the first half. After all the pre game discussions and interviews with the staff, I was expecting to see a more coherent offense and was disappointed.
