A lot of the Pac-12 teams are after Jonah Mathews, but the Beavs do have some connections per the linked article.
Oregon State has some strong connections to the Mathews family.
"I like their program. My friend Stevie Thompson is going there and he's a really good player. They don't lose much off their team, so everybody will be back. They have a good staff. Stevie's dad is a really good friend of my dad, so that helps. Coach Gottlieb coached my brother at Cal and I talk to him all the time. That could be a big factor too."
