Nuggets (as well as all premium info posted on this forum) are not to be shared outside of B-Edge. If people start sharing my intel elsewhere, it ruins what I'm able to post. Some of this stuff is sensitive information. And also, if you share info elsewhere and I find out it's you, you're banned from the board. FYI

1. Take what I'm about to say as more of a rumor than a nugget. I was told this by a pretty decent source but more of secondhand information..... I highly doubt this has ever been reported, so if anyone wants to get cute and post it elsewhere, we'll know where it came from. But anyways, regarding Virginia head coach and former Beaver player Bronco Mendenhall... A source told me that "He WANTS to be at OSU. He's a fish out of water at Virginia." The source added that Mendenhall applied for the opening after Riley left and put Gary Andersen down as a reference. When Oregon State called Gary as a reference, Gary said that he was interested in the opening. "The hiring came out of nowhere," the source added.. Again, secondhand information so I'm not sure how valid it is, but it's something else... I'm keeping my eye on Mendenhall as a candidate, but he makes a hell of a lot of money at Virginia.
2. The same source in the first nugget told me that he (or she) expects Gary to end up at Utah. The Utes' current DC is going to be a name will likely pop up for a group of 5 school as head coach, and then Gary could replace him as Utah's DC.
3. There was a nugget that I typed up a couple weeks ago but I didn't end up reporting it for obvious reasons.. I feel comfortable posting the gist of it now... I was told that some of the players (not sure how many) absolutely love Andersen but not care very much for the coordinators. At the end of the day, the players adore Gary, and honestly Cory Hall too. Just like a lot of you guys blamed the coordinators for OSU's problems, it seems like that's what was happening in the locker room too.
4. "Commit to a school, not a coach" is my favorite line in recruiting. With some of OSU's recruits under Andersen, a lot of them committed to OSU because of Gary. I worry about the old "T" word... Yes, transfers. It's not just graduate transfers that I'm worried about - it's younger players that came from a long ways from home to come to OSU. Nothing to worry about just this second though. This will depend on who OSU brings in, and whoever it is, I'm sure the players will be excited about.
5. I heard from a source that today (Tuesday) was Oregon State's best practice of the season. That is great to hear. The players love coach Hall and this move could really bring some positive energy. I just hope Hall can step up and make some "big boy pants" decisions as a head coach throughout the game. He's going to need to learn on the fly.
6. Recruiting.... Oh man. Oregon State was set to host Nikko hall and Andrew Mataafa this weekend for official visits, but those visits have been delayed. Mataafa told me that he'll be visiting December 1. If the current regime sticks together in some way (either Hall gets hired or the new guy keeps the recruiting ops guys/some of the assistants) then they could keep those visits scheduled. Otherwise, it doesn't make much sense for Oregon State to bring in official visitors for an interim staff. Schools have done it in the past though, so we'll see if OSU brings in official visitors for the ASU game in November. But no official visitors for this weekend.
7. The commits have been very supportive on social media and none of them have publicly decommitted. When the new staff comes in, it will be on them to see which recruits they want to keep committed (will be most, if not all) and will reach out to the OSU commits first. Then, they'll start recruiting others.
8. How about some hoops recruiting? So men's hoops teams are allowed 13 scholarships. You guys can tell me if I'm wrong, but here are the 13 on scholarship: McLaughlin, Thompson (x2), Stacy, Tinkle, Hollins, Reichle, Eubanks, Rakocevic, Manuel, N'Diaye, Berger, and Kone. Three of those guys are seniors (Stacy, N'Diaye, Berger), but there always could be attrition. So I'm thinking the Beavs can definitely fit in one more recruit, potentially two if someone declares early or transfers. The Beavs have Jack Wilson and Warren Washington committed. The top targets, that I know of are SG Aguir Auga, who OV'ed for the UW game, and Kylor Kelley, a JuCo center that was committed to OSU over the summer. Kelley tells me that he's visiting this weekend, and I'll catch up with him afterwards. Also, Jack Wilson will be officially visiting for next weekend.
