There are some things I would like to put out there.
The first moment of adversity and multiple of you are ready to take this coaching staff behind the woodshed in the second game of the season. That is worse to me than any botched long snap. That's your deal. But if I have to read your's then you have to read mine.
Michigan has a better team than us. News flash. Not just a little, a lot. 9 yards in the second half on offense. 9. It's upsetting, I get that.
There will be growing pains. There is a new staff, a new system. There are, by my count, 47 either RSfr or Fr on this team right now. Not much veteran leadership in those numbers when you consider most of our upperclassmen haven't even seen significant playing time before this young season. I believe that's something that was very evident in week 2. As somebody else mentioned in another thread, these are mostly players recruited out of a pro-style offense or a 4-3 base defense. You don't master a whole new concept in 9 months. If you thought this was going to be a turnaround in one season then you might just be crazy. Should we be able to record more than 9 yards against perhaps the most physically talented team we will face all year? Maybe. Probably. You can be the judge of that in whatever way you want to I suppose. I would imagine those coaches are more upset about that than any of us are.
As for me, I think that I will blindly and proudly follow this team regardless of whoever the coach is, whether they win another game or not, whoever the quarterback is, however they call the plays, and no matter how many yards they gain in second halves. That's my level of fandom I suppose. I don't shrink away from adversity or begin to question every decision that's made when something doesn't go right. It's not in your control. Rest assured this team will improve before this season is over.
