Watched a documentary on net flicks about the 1973-77 saga of the Portland Mavericks the independent team that took over the Portland market when the beavers moved to Spokane . Very entertaining and insightful from the perspective of Kurt Russel the son of owner Bing Russel. I remembered the hi jinks and success they had . Worth the watch. I think it is titled Battling Bastards of Baseball. The old civic stadium turf was so hard and hot I played a HS game in early Sept on that crap we beat David Douglas of the old Metro League in 1974. Been a Beaver one way or another since 1973 at BHS then OSU 76-79 go Beavs BTD .
