A pair of Oregon State commitments in the Beavers 2024 recruiting class have accepted invites to the Polynesian Bowl.

Defensive end Kekai Burnett accepted his invitation. The Honolulu, Hawaii, native committed to Oregon State on July 5 over offers from Arizona, BYU, Cal, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, San Diego State, Stanford, Texas State, and Washington State. Burnett and Punahou are 2-0 so far, early in their 2023 season.

Here's what Rivals National Recruiting Director Adam Gorney said about Burnett following his commitment;

"Burnett is a disruptor all along the defensive line. He can line up off the edge standing up, he can put his hand down as a more traditional defensive end or the new Oregon State commit can also move inside and beat offensive linemen with his speed. He's always in the backfield. It does help that Punahou's defensive line is dominant and he's not going up against elite Division I offensive linemen on every snap but he's still an impressive and productive defensive lineman wherever he lines up."

St. Louis High School standout offensive lineman Rustin Young has also accepted a Polynesian Bowl invite. The fellow Honolulu native committed to Oregon State ten days after Burnett's commitment. The 6-foot-5 offensive lineman picked the Beavers over Arizona State, Boise State, California, Fresno State, Hawaii, Nevada, San Diego State, Texas State, and Utah.

Here's what Rivals National Recruiting Director Adam Gorney said about Young following his commitment;

"This is exactly the type of player who shines at Oregon State because that coaching staff does a phenomenal job landing some under-the-radar prospects and then developing them into high-end players. Young was outstanding at a recent Under Armour Camp and got invited to the Under Armour game where he's going to be seriously tested by some of the biggest, toughest defensive ends in the entire country. We will see how he performs there but Young has great quickness, light feet, and a strong, physical punch. If he holds his own there, then it will show the Beavers got a complete steal out of Hawaii."
