+ When questioned how well will you do, GA was unwilling to commit, he clearly has questions just how good we're going to be and wasn't going to over commit. When mention of the Media not picking a single player on watch lists not to mention OSU picked to finish last in the North (11 out 12 in the Pac12 only ahead of Colorado) he expressed it as potential "chip on your shoulder" motivation to the coaches and players.

+ GA made mention that we could go with a 2 QB game day approach referencing Northwestern pulling it off previously. Collins is very raw throwing the ball and just may not be ready or even have the skill sets to be an every down throwing QB but his running and break away skills are difficult to keep off the field. Unless in Fall camp which in all honesty is only 6 weeks long Collins proves he can throw better than Mitchell my guess is that we're in for a 2 QB game rotation this season.

+ GA about young moldable QB's rather than having Sean Mannion for a season. GA quickly stated if he had SM he would have molded the offense around the talented QB. Said Sean was very helpful with the QB's in the Spring. Clearly thinks highly of SM.

+ Every coach that did better last year first words was that the difference was from recruiting. And that upgrades in their facilities was the chief reason more kids were interested. RichRod said, with the new facilities if we can get a kid on campus we're going to get that kid. I have family in Tucson and one could say aside from the weather Tucson is as challenging to recruit to as Corvallis. What I liked about RichRod is that he has clearly embraced his surroundings and understands the advantages - I see the same thing in GA about Corvallis.

+ Some have mentioned Stanford as a possible OSU win but the overwhelming consensus from the discussion by media interviewed is that Stanford is the program to watch to not only win the North but the Pac12. Goff of Cal goes into the season as a predicted top 10 pick in next year's NFL draft and the program expects to build on its 5-7 season from last year. Utah was also seen as an improving team with a veteran QB coming back and always difficult to beat when they're at home. Expecting Beav wins against these 3 teams is optimistic especially on the road at both Cal and Utah.

In general most teams in the Pac12 we're seen to be better off than last year with the exception of Washington and Oregon State which were said to have lost ground to the rest of the conference. Overall the Pac12 was being hailed as better than the SEC and yet because of conference foes neither conferences may end up in the CFB Playoff at the end of the season.
