THE LATEST:
Running back is not a loaded position in California this recruiting cycle but the top prospect there this year is three-star Christopher Brown Jr. and he recently returned from a trip to Oregon State.

The Oceanside (Calif.) El Camino standout said he especially liked the coaching staff in Corvallis and their vision for how they’re going to rebuild the Beavers’ program.

Brown, who stood out at the recent Los Angeles Under Armour camp, said he also was impressed by the coaches’ honesty when it came to the program and how they’re going to get better each day.

Oregon State definitely made an impression on Brown but it was his first major unofficial visit so he’s not ready to name any favorites yet. It still sounds really early in his recruiting process.

IN HIS WORDS: “It was a nice campus and city where everyone was a family in Corvallis. The coaches' message to us was that they are going to be a much better team in the future than right now and they’re going to do it brick by brick. I thought the coaches were straight up and told us players everything about how it is in Corvallis.”

RIVALS’ REACTION: So far, Brown has been offered by Arizona, Boise State, Cal, Hawaii, Iowa State, Oregon State, San Diego State, UCLA, Utah and Washington State.

The three-star running back said no other new interest has been coming in but the way it’s worked with Brown is that teams have just been offering pretty quickly after talking with him.

The Oregon State visit definitely went well and it’s something for him to remember as his recruitment moves forward but it’s still really early for the three-star running back.

It’s highly expected that the Oceanside El Camino prospect will take many more visits in the coming months but at this point it definitely seems like Pac-12 schools have piqued his interest the most - and Oregon State did a good job showing him what it can offer this past weekend.
