the Oregonian ran a nice preview article on baseball’s upcoming series with the friskies this weekend. No ground breaking news, but lots Pat Casey quotes. He thinks any one of seven teams could #1, and is particularly impressed with Arkansas. Same starting rotation this weekend, but it doesn’t sound like Gambrell is lock. “He wants to be better and we want him to be better” said Casey.

Some discussion that the friskies broke our first 23 game win streak last year and gave Luke his only loss of the season as pontentional motivation for the series. Although No mention of Meeks badmouthing us to the selection committee that kept us out of the playoffs a couple years ago, which is probably much bigger motivation for Casey (And, we Fans need to give him the appropriate OS welcome this weekend)

On the positive side, two paragraphs on Luke and no mention of past issues. They also had a new writer on the story, Ron Richmond. Maybe this is Oregonian’s attempt to try to restore things a bit. Casey gave him some time and quotes—I suspect some of the other writers who beat the Luke drum to death are not as welcomed in the OS clubhouse.

Forgiveness, no,but I think we’re big enough to acknowledge a step in the right direction.
