Right about this time Every year, I get to jonesin for Beaver Football....scouring the roster, looking at each position. Additions, subtractions, and projections. I always feel each year is going to better than the last, and for last 4 years I have been quite wrong.....BUT
This year feels so much different. I don't think I have ever seen this type of recruiting energy and connection in all my 30 plus years as a fan. Riley had the follow through and ability to find the diamonds in the rough, but seemed to lack the fire to get after it (I could be wrong)....To where GA had all the fire and no follow through.
This Staff seems to have combined both fire and follow through with a philosophy that resonates with kids and their families, without losing a competitive edge and desire to win. That is a hell of a balance to sell after coming off a 2-10 season and 5 straight losing seasons. In a nut shell I think what we are witnessing is.... this is what a real culture change looks like.... They are addressing every single one last years needs, and more importantly, getting the commitments or transfers in for the up and coming year.....again following a 2-10 season....that is amazing to me.
I wouldn't doubt if we walk away with 3 of the four visitors this weekend if not all four......
