San Gorgonio (Calif.) ATH/CB Kaleb Hayes has been committed to Oregon State since the summer, and he's been committed this whole time without ever stepping foot on campus at OSU.

That changed over the weekend as the Beavers' staff flew him up from Corvallis for a weekend official visit.

"Corvallis seemed like peaceful city. Everything is very compact; it's a college town. Everyone loves Oregon State. They really care about the school. They're really nice there."

What were the highlights of Hayes' time at Oregon State?

"The highlights were meeting some of the players, watching them practice, and talking to some of the coaches. I got to understand what they're looking at me as and their expectations for me. I loved the football facilities, everything is new, and they're still building some stuff."

Hayes played quarterback his senior season, but he is committed to Oregon State at cornerback. He had a great time bonding with his future position coach during the visit.

"I had a really good connection with coach Hall. He was telling me stories about himself, which was making me feel comfortable. He played my position and made it big by working hard. He was telling me that he'll train me hard, and I really do trust him. He's a cool guy; he's funny. He takes business when business matters."

Click here to view the story I wrote on Hayes a few days ago, where he talked about taking an official visit to BYU this weekend. I fully expect Hayes to end up a Beaver, and he's feeling confident in that as well.

"I feel really good about it," Hayes said. "Shemiah [Unutoa-Whitson, Hayes' former teammate] told me a bunch of stuff too, so I know someone there from my area. If I'm going to a college, I'd like to already know somebody at least. But yeah, I feel really nice about it, and I'm bought into it."
