Here's to sending Storm out, as Andersen put it, "with his chest puffed out and his head held high."
Great point about Barrs-Woods (gotta get used to that...) not getting any hype. Granted the ground game has been horrible-to-bad the past couple years, but to put what Woods has done in his career into perspective:
- Storm averages 5 yards per rush at this point in his career...that's more than Quizz, Kenny, Steven, and Yve
- Storm already has more receiving yards than Kenny, Yve, and Steven - Only Quizz has more and Woods will pass him in week 3 or 4 probably (needs 125 to pass him)
- Storm's yards from scrimmage per play is better than all the above mentioned Beaver greats. Storm averages 5.7 yards per touch, Jackson and Quizz were 5.3 and the next two closest.
- Should Storm have a great year, lets say he has a 1,700 yard rushing season. Not astronomically high, and I think possible with the new offense. That puts him at 3,883 yards in his career, putting him behind only Simonton (whom nobody will ever catch IMO)
- Really the only place where he's blown out of the water is in total touchdowns (only 26, everyone else w/41 or more). But you could argue that's more a product of the stale system he was in and the craziness that surrounded the OC position for about a season and a half.
