-I thought this was Chance Nolan’s best day of practice yet. Whether it was on his feet or through the air, he was accurate, poised, and smart with the football. Right off the bat he fit a ball in a tiny window on the near sideline where Jesiah Irish made a pretty toe-tap catch.

-Irish made a couple of catches like that throughout practice. He made another over-the-shoulder snag during one-on-one in a minuscule window, and he hung onto it.

-Back to Nolan, there were multiple times where the pocket collapsed on him that he escaped from and picked up a chunk of yardage. In a sequence during 11-on-11, Nolan scrambled for about 25 yard when the offense was backed up, then found Anthony Gould for a sweet catch with Ryan Cooper Jr. draped all over him.

-Redshirt sophomore WR John Dunmore popped today too. First off during one on one, scored twice pretty easily on go routes, showing some really easy speed gliding down the field. Then, during 11-on 11 made a couple of really nice catches in traffic.

-Tristan Gebbia saw some reps with the first team during the final 11-on-11 session, but wasn’t able to make much of it. Ben Gulbranson had some nice reps with the third team, showing off his athleticism in a neat two-play sequence: after taking a sack on the previous play, made a long throw from the right hash all the way across the field to his left for 15 yards, then escaping the pocket on the next rep and picking up the first down using his legs.

-The receivers were winning a few more battles today than they had last week, Tre’Shaun Harrison ripped a catch away from Ryan Cooper for a TD in seven-on-seven, then Silas Bolden did the same to Jaden Robinson in 11-on-11. Bolden had another earlier in practice where he made a great catch in traffic and got hit as hard as you would get without pads.

-Freshman note: Melvin Jordan sacked Gulbranson while the third team was on the field toward the end of practice.

-Redshirt freshman kicker Josh McCormick was the one kicking during two-minute drills. He hit from 37 and missed from 50.

*Note - Today is another non-interview day, we’ll be talking to Coach Smith on Tuesday👍
