TE: Luke Musgrave, Jake Overman
****FB: Jack Colletto

First Team Defense
DL: Sione Lolohea

OLB: Cory Stover
OLB: John McCartan
ILB: Omar Speights
ILB: Kyrei Fisher
DB: Rejzohn Wright
DB: Alex Austin
DB: Jaydon Grant
DB: Kitan Oladapo

-We did not see Alton Julian, Taliese Fuaga, or Isaac Hodgins in live drills, as they appear to still be limited in action on day two.

-I would be surprised if we see any one running back get a majority of first-team carries until game week arrives. OC Brian Lindgren echoed this after practice, but the coaching staff really likes the different skill sets the group brings to the table and sees no issues rotating through the bunch for first-team reps. Deshaun Fenwick, Damien Martinez, Jam Griffin, and Trey Lowe all saw first-team reps throughout the day.

-I’m really excited to see this running back room once the pads go on and there’s more contact. It’s hard to grade what the running backs are doing when they can’t lower a shoulder into anyone.

-There was much more energy on and off the field today. Both the offense and defense were more aggressive pushing the ball down the field and trash talking off of it.

-Kitan Oladapo and the defense set the tone right away on the first rep of seven-on-seven ball, intercepting a Chance Nolan pass over the middle and taking it back the other way.

-Nolan was on and off. He struggled for much of the seven-on-seven, missing on his only deep ball attempt to Tre’Shaun Harrison with Rejzohn Wright right in his hip pocket. He also had a pair of passes batted down by Oladapo (again) and junior Ryan Cooper Jr., then another in 11-on-11 by Alex Austin.

-Cooper Jr. and Oladapo definitely stood out, both of them batted down multiple passes despite a limited amount of live reps.

-The one deep ball Nolan connected on was a beauty, tossing a 50-yard strike to Anthony Gould splitting between Oladapo and Jaydon Grant for a TD.

-Ben Gulbranson took the second-team reps in 11-on-11, showcasing that cannon of an arm he has, but was largely inaccurate. The redshirt freshman got picked by sophomore Skyler Thomas on a bench route to the near boundary, and wasn’t able to hit on anything down the field. He looks to still be getting his timing down.

-Tristan Gebbia saw the second team reps with the seven-on-seven session. We haven’t gotten to talk to him yet, but he seems healthy and raring to go. Whether he can beat out Nolan or Gulbranson? Only time will tell. He threw a couple nice darts on time over the middle to redshirt freshman J.T. Byrne in traffic, and showed the health of his legs on a scramble to his right and throwing a dart to sophomore Silas Bolden on the sideline.

-Defense won the day again. Besides the long touchdown from Nolan, there wasn’t a whole lot of room for the offense to work with beyond 10 yards, or holes for the running backs to find between the tackles.
