On paper, no one can argue that the Beaver defense is likely the least experienced among the pac12, returning only two full time starters from last year. This is the least experienced unit I can remember. Upon further glance though, the Beavers have many players that have seen the field and even boast starts to show it.
Larry Scott-12 starts
Jashwa James-7
Rommel Mageo-8
Lavonte Barnett-4
Justin Strong-3
Jalen Grimble-3
Luke Hollingsworth-2
Although they dont all fit the criteria for "returning starter", This makes 7 players returning on defense who have some starting experience. When you combine this with a talented Peko, strong play from Noland-Lewis, a disruptive Songy, and speedy Ugwoebu, not to mention the wisdom of DC Sataki, i cant help but be optimistic that the Beaver D may overachieve from what prognosticators are saying.
