Not much in this posts in terms of new information but wanted to give you guys my coaching search thoughts in one thread.

- The longer the search goes on, the less likely Beau Baldwin is OSU's next head coach. You guys have pointed this out and I agree with you -- if BB was the guy, it would have been done by now as he coaches for a non-bowl team.

- I still have a couple of sources that think Baldwin is getting the Oregon State job. I even tried to get an update from the Footballscoop.com writer who wrote the story about Baldwin being the next OSU coach on Friday night. He said he'd look into it but never got back to me.

- Baldwin was at one point THE leading candidate for the job. My current understanding is that he was the leader, but it fell through, and Barnes needed to look at other candidates. But I'm not ruling Baldwin out for the job just yet.

- Is Stanford DC Lance Anderson a candidate? Late on Sunday night, I was watching The Punisher series on Netflix (great show) and I received a phone call from one of my trusted (non-OSU) sources. I knew it was for coaching search purposes. So I paused my show and grabbed a pen and paper. The source told me that Anderson would be interviewing for the OSU job on Monday. I already had other nuggets loaded up for Monday morning, so I just waited to post about Anderson until then. About 30 seconds after I published the nuggets on the board, Bruce Feldman tweeted out that Anderson was a candidate for the OSU job, then Dan Wolken from USA Today tweets that he heard Anderson was interviewing... Moran and TOS both tweeted that Anderson is not a candidate for the job, and while he probably won't get the job, Feldman, Wolken, and myself aren't just making this shit up. We have good sources that are outside of Oregon State.

- I keep hearing that the coach may not be named until early next week... Still a chance it's this week.

- Unless a big name like Todd Graham, Kevin Sumlin, Les Miles, or fill in the blank with your own big name head coach strikes a deal with Barnes, then Oregon State better lock up Baldwin or Bryan Harsin.. For this job being open since October 9 and having a search firm in place that whole time, Oregon State HAS to make a respectable hire.

- I have media friends that cover Boise State, and I know that once Boise loses, their stadium starts to empty. The expectations there are to go undefeated and steamroll the Mountain West every year. They've lost at least three games the past three seasons now, and I think there's a good portion of the fan base that wants Harsin gone.

- I think Harsin would be a great hire. 47-17 head coaching record is pretty good if you ask me. He'd be in for a rebuild but he meets my main three requirements: west coast (PNW too) ties, offensive background, and young (41 years old). He also has lots of head coaching experience too. Heck, he even beat the Beavers last year in Corvallis.

- Harsin is a Boise State alum, which makes things a bit complicated, IMO. It would suck to have to leave your alma mater at just 41.. He could always come back though.

- Boise plays Fresno State in the MWC championship game. He could coach that game, leave on Monday and let the interim coach handle the bowl game. If Boise were in play for a new years six bowl, then you'd think Harsin would want to stay, but after Boise lost to Fresno last week, that's out of the picture.
