1. Let's start this some recruiting notes. This weekends official visitors are...

DE Azur Kamara
DT Kevin Scott
DT Tristan Nichols

All three guys are from Arizona Western Community College, the same college where the Beavers landed Craig Evans a year ago. Scott and Nichols aren't big time recruits right now, but Kamara certainly is. A couple weeks ago, the Beavers offered four D-line recruits from AWC, and I'm told that the fourth, DT Noah Jefferson, will be officially visiting the first weekend in December. Another quick note... I'm about 90% sure there will be a fourth official visitor. Can't say who yet, and I'll explain why on Friday when I post the name (or if another outlet or the kid himself posts it before Friday then I will explain then).

2. Ever since Gary Andersen left Oregon State, I've heard rumors about transfers regarding various players, but I think that's a typical thing when a coach leaves/gets fired. The players consider transferring, but then once the new coach comes in, sells the vision and what not, then everything smooths over. I'm not going to name names on who I've heard is considering leaving, but it's something to keep in mind.

3. I will talk about a couple of guys that might not be back in Beaver uniforms next season. Nallf48 is on our message board, and you can only imagine what family that user belongs to. Last Thursday, Nallf48 posted "I think these last 3 games will decide if Ryan returns." I've heard that Ryan Nall is considering declaring for the draft, but I wouldn't rule out Nall graduate transferring. My gut tells me he returns next season at OSU but I really don't know.... Also, I've heard from multiple sources that Thomas Tyner may not even pursue an extra year of eligibility that has been previously discussed. Tyner IS going through senior day activities this weekend and OSU has not filed paperwork to try to get Tyner an additional year, per my OSU source.... "That may be discussed at some point, but it’s ultimately up to Thomas if he desires to do that and to some degree the new coach," the source said. At this point, I don't think Tyner returns.

4. Coaching search time.... I think we're all very ready for Oregon State to go ahead and name the next coach. Everyone out there has their own sources and reports their own rumors.

I'll just go ahead and dump everything I've recently below. Wouldn't even call these nuggets. Call them rumors.

- I haven't taken much stock personally in this rumor, but I have heard third-hand that Beau Baldwin was spotted on campus at OSU. Cal did just have a bye week so it's entirely possible... but I'm not sure I believe the rumor. I talked to a source close to Baldwin who had no knowledge of Baldwin's interest in the OSU position. I'm not sure what to make of that.

- Don't sleep on Jonathan Smith in this coaching search. I keep hearing his name and he will get a very serious look. I've heard Alex Grinch's name from the get-go too and heard his name earlier today as a candidate.

- A source told me that former Florida coach Jim McElwain is "politicking" for the Oregon State job. He apparently has a good bit of interest in the job.

- So while I hear that Smith is a candidate, I've also heard that Oregon State is looking for a candidate with significant head coaching experience. Smith may be a backup plan at this point.

- Bronco Mendenhall was one of the first guys I reported on when Gary left as a guy to keep an eye on, and I hadn't heard his name for a while until one of our members here (you know who you are) gave me a tip from an OSU donor source. Mendenhall apparently wants the job but might be too expensive.

5. Quick note... I've reported this before but just wanted to follow up that I heard it again today.. That Gary Andersen is back in Utah and will on staff when colleges are allowed a 10th assistant coach in January. There's a possibility that he'll be elevated straight to defensive coordinator.
