I am just wondering if for the next few years the Beavs need to focus recruiting on getting better hitters? This year's team seems to be greatly struggling with hitting and scoring runs, despite our position in the Pac-12 and #3 ranking (which will drop after this weekend). I realize it is unfair to compare to last year's team which was probably the best hitting team in OSU history.
It just seems that we can always recruit quality pitching. Perhaps the coaching staff really needs to emphasize finding good hitters in the next few classes.
I could be overreacting.
I realize we have some good hitters in the lineup who are just in slumps.
I also believe their strategy of watching that first pitch most of the time (which is usually a strike down the middle, the best pitch to swing at) is not working well for us right now.
