I know those of you who follow the Baseball Beavs closely are fully aware of this, but I have just realized how impressive the Freshmen are playing this year.
I'm not sure how last year's recruiting class was rated either in conference or Nationally, but I doubt if many teams are getting the performance from their rookies as the Beavs…
I'm doing this from memory, but look at the 1st year players who are playing very (VERY) solid baseball right now…
Christian Donahue - hitting the ball well the past few weeks
Cary Elliott - -making progress; clutch hitting the past 2 or 3 series--Casey things he has big-time potential
KJ Harrison - leading the league in RBIs - batting cleanup -
Joe Gillette - solid - getting game time
And on the mound:
Sam Tweedt, Luke Heimlich, Mitch Hickey & Drew Rasmussen.
Does anyone else in the PAC have 4 frosh pitching serious innings? (Don't know, just asking.)
Anyway, some of you guys who really follow things can add to this. But it seems to me the Beavs are really getting great mileage from young kids who are going to be in the program for several more years.
Comments welcome…..
