Football B.J. Baylor Recognized By Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award

TYLER, Texas – B.J. Baylor was named an honorable mention selection for the weekly Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, the Tyler Chamber and SPORTyler, announced on Tuesday.

It is the second time this season Baylor has been recognized by the organization, the first coming after the Beavers’ win over Hawai’i on Sept. 11.

Baylor carried the ball 20 times in the win over Washington, totaling 111 yards and two rushing touchdowns. Baylor’s first score, coming from 5 yards out, put the Beavers up, 14-7, while his second, from 27 yards, tied the game at 24 in the fourth quarter.

The Wharton, Texas native has a Pac-12-best nine touchdowns this season, which also ranks tied for third nationally. He has scored multiple touchdowns in four of the Beavers’ five games this season.

To be eligible for recognition, a student-athlete must be an offensive player and meet one of the following criteria: be born in Texas and/or graduate from a Texas high school and/or have played at a Texas-based junior college or currently played at a Texas-based university.
