I was watching this, I think on ESPN U and they replayed the game form 1990, Gary Payton had a horrible game and fouled out with 2 min left. I remember watching this as a kid and being devastated! The Beavs had this game won with 4 seconds left up by two and Ball State had to go the length of the court. Brutal ending with the out of bounds then the foul and one with no time left!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ball State went on to beat Louisville and lose to eventual National Champion UNLV 67-69 and had a shot to win that game! Oregon State would have beat Louisville and was a bad match up for UNLV, what could have been!!! I might have orange colored glasses but I think OSU would have had a very good chance at the National title if Ball St didn't pull off a miracle!
Watching that game gets me fired up for next season and I would put Ball St on the out of conference schedule every year!
I kind of want to do the same thing to Sac St and Eastern Washington in football, every single year put them on the schedule and beat them down mercilessly!
I am so pumped at the thought of Oregon State being part of March madness!!!!
