QUICKLY: Oregon State looks to upset a Top 25 team for the third consecutive year ... The Beavers will face two Top 25 teams during the first week of conference play for just the third time since 1948-49 ... Drew Eubanks is 13th in the nation in blocked shots per game (2.9) ... Eubanks has 38 blocks in 13 games this season; he had 39 swats in 32 games last season ... Stephen Thompson Jr. had a career-high four steals in each of the past two games ... Thompson Jr. posted his first career double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds against Kent State ... Oregon State players have missed 27 games due to injuries.

vs. USC: Oregon State and USC meet for the 134th time in history with the Trojans leading the series, 69-64. The Beavers hold a 40-29 advantage in games played in Corvallis, including a streak of seven straight wins at Gill Coliseum. Oregon State's longest home winning streak in the series is 10 games (1975 to 1984).

The Beavers have won nine of the last 14 meetings after dropping seven straight from 2005 to 2008.

The teams split the series last season with each winning at home. Oregon State took the first meeting, 85-70, on Jan. 24 at Gill Coliseum when the Trojans were ranked No. 21 in the nation. USC won 81-70 on March 2 at the Galen Center.

A WIN OVER THE TROJANS: If Oregon State defeats USC it will improve to 5-9 overall and 1-0 in Pac-12 play. It would also:
  • Be the second straight season Oregon State won its Pac-12 opener (defeated Oregon, 70-57, on Jan. 3 at Gill Coliseum).
  • Be just the fourth time since 1994-95 that Oregon State won its Pac-12 opener (2004-05, 2010-11 and 2015-16 were the others).
  • Be the third-straight year Oregon State defeated a Top 25 team.
    • The Beavers defeated No. 7 Arizona, 58-56, in 2015 and topped No. 21 USC, 85-70, in 2016.
    • The last time Oregon State upset Top 25 teams three consecutive years was 2004 (90-84 over No. 14 Arizona), 2005 (90-73 over No. 11 Washington) and 2006 (75-65 over No. 24 Arizona).
  • Be the second-straight season Oregon State defeated USC at Gill Coliseum when the Trojans were ranked (defeated No. 21 USC, 85-70, on Jan. 24).
  • Be Oregon State's eighth-straight home win over USC.

QUITE THE START: Oregon State opens Pac-12 play against No. 22 USC (13-0) and No. 2 UCLA (13-0) this week.
  • According to Jesse Hooker of the Pac-12, this is the first time since the formation of the Pac-8 in 1967-68 that travel partners are undefeated heading into conference play. There have been only three times since 1967-68 that two conference teams are unbeaten entering the first week of league play:
    • 2013-14: Arizona (13-0)/Oregon (12-0)
    • 2006-07: Oregon (11-0)/UCLA (11-0)
    • 1994-95: Stanford (9-0)/UCLA (9-0, but 6-0 before start of league play)
  • This is just the third time since 1948-49 that Oregon State will face two teams ranked in the Top 25 during the first week of conference play.
    • 1975-76: Jan. 8 -- Oregon State 80, No. 18 USC 70; Jan. 10 -- Oregon State 75, No. 3 UCLA 58
    • 1971-72: Jan. 7 -- No. 1 UCLA 78, Oregon State 72); Jan. 8 -- No. 11 USC 87, Oregon State 75
